Three everyday examples for this design.

  1. Plant a small houseplant while keeping the drainage hole clear and the saucer accessible.

  2. Water a windowsill plant, then lift the pot to empty the water collected in the saucer.

  3. Move the pot aside during shelf cleaning and wash the separate saucer before returning it.

THE IDEA BEHIND IT

A small detail,
thought all the way through.

A central drain hole lets excess water leave the pot. The saucer projects enough to be grasped and emptied, while both pieces remain simple to rinse.

Refined for real life

Increase finger clearance around the saucer and keep the drainage hole clear of the foot ring.
